1月4日讯不久之前，葡萄牙球星C罗对法甲的水准进行了批评。对于C罗的言论，马赛主帅德泽尔比发表了自己的看法。
在一次新闻发布会上，德泽尔比说道：“对于一个法国之外的人而言，法甲是一个比他想象地更为强大的联赛。但是，这个联赛肯定是被经营他的人以错误的方式推销了。因为，在法国之外，法甲落下了联赛级别较低的名声，但事实绝非如此。”
“法甲有着非常强大的球员，非常强大的主教练，有满满当当的球员，也有着狂热的氛围。但是，也许法甲没有被以合适的方式推销，他们在这方面不如欧洲最好的联赛英超，也不如意甲、西甲或者德甲。我不知道这是管理问题还是和海外的沟通问题。”
“很遗憾，一些非常强大的球员本可以留在法甲，但他们却转会去了英超、德甲或者其他联赛。而且，有一些非常强大的主教练赢得一些东西后也离开了。法国是个热爱足球的国家，很遗憾没有得到外界充分的欣赏。”
